Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we get from clients and their families about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact us.

  • Our therapy offices are located at 239 Cleveland Avenue N. in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

  • Yes we do! We offer in-person sessions at our office at 239 Cleveland Avenue N. in Saint Paul.

  • Online therapy, or “telehealth,” is a lot like any other meeting you might have online. We set a scheduled time to meet and we email you a link beforehand. But before we meet for the first time, your therapist at CTC will send you a link to some intake paperwork for you to review and electronically sign.

  • If you plan to pay out-of-pocket, the cost is $150 for a 53-minute session, and $250 for the initial diagnostic assessment.

If you plan to use your health insurance, we are in-network with:

United Behavioral Health/Optum/Medica, Health Partners, PreferredOne, CIGNA, and Aetna.

  • Whether you’re meeting with your CTC therapist in-person or online, the first session tends to have the same look and feel as we use the session to conduct the “intake” or diagnostic assessment. During the intake we tend to ask you a lot of questions so we can get to know you better and get a better understanding of what’s bringing you to therapy. We will ask questions about your specific situation, mental health symptoms, relevant life events, psychiatric history, family background, community, etc. After the intake we work with you to develop treatment goals that aim to improve how you’re feeling, reduce symptoms, and improve insight.

  • How long you stay in therapy depends on how long it takes to reduce your symptoms so you feel better.
